Will Friedle (pronounced "Freh-dell") stars as Eric Matthews, a college freshman and older brother to angst-ridden Cory (Ben Savage), in "Boy Meets World." Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Friedle is the youngest of three boys and can relate to Cory's plight. "I was always trying to hang out with my brothers when I was younger," he recalls. "I am Cory in my real family, and with my television family, it's role reversal. Now I see how my older brothers looked at me. It's bizarre to see this from another angle." Friedle began acting professionally when he was in the fifth grade. At the urging of his drama teacher, he auditioned for a small part in a professional production of "A Doll's House" and was cast as one of the child leads. He recently completed the starring role in "My Date with the President's Daughter," a two-hour telefilm for "The Wonderful World of Disney," which will air this season on ABC. He plays an ordinary high school student who unknowingly asks the daughter of the President of the United States for a date, setting in motion a hysterical and action-packed chain of events. Friedle also stars in the feature film "The Trojan War," with Jennifer Love Hewitt of "Party of Five." His television credits include a starring role in the movie "True Blue" and a guest appearance on "Law & Order." He has worked on several cable programs, hosting "Totally Kids' Sports," "Don't Just Sit There," and "Home Video Bloopers." He was featured in the television movie "Set for Life," starring Andy Griffith, and "Educating Mom." His theater experience includes roles in "Lyle," "Kids," and "Maslow's Kids' Circus." Friedle resides in Connecticut. When he's not studying or in front of the camera, he enjoys traveling, and writing screenplays and short stories. He is currently taking college classes to prepare himself for a career in archaeology. He has been accepted to several Los Angeles area universities, but has opted to defer college while working on "Boy Meets World." |
