Ben Savage
as Cory Matthews

Ben Savage stars as Cory Matthews, facing his senior year of high school on "Boy Meets World."

Savage hails from Chicago. At an early age, he followed in the footsteps of his older brother, Fred ("The Wonder Years"), by launching his television career with appearances in commercials.

At age 16, he is already a television veteran. He received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Coty Wyckoff, an angel-faced boy with the soul of a killer, in the ABC miniseries "Wild Palms." He also appeared in the recurring role of Matthew, son of the Judd Hirsch character, on the comedy series "Dear John," and starred in "A Family for Joe" opposite Robert Mitchum.

Savage appeared in the ABC television movie "She Woke Up" and also starred with Sinbad in the ABC special "McDonald's Family Theatre Presents: Aliens for Breakfast."

He made his film debut in "Little Monsters," and appeared in the feature films "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Clifford," the latter starring Martin Short. His stage debut was "The Laughter Epidemic" at the Pasadena Playhouse and the Canon Theater.

He continues to donate his time to several worthwhile causes, and is serving as ambassador for "The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids." As a spokesperson against domestic violence, he narrated a video put together by the American Bar Association and the Disney Channel. The video, entitled "It's Not O.K.: Let's Talk About Domestic Violence and Children," is shown to children in domestic violence shelters, police stations, family courts, doctors' offices, and hospitals. Savage also donates time to the Los Angeles Children's Hospital, visiting with kids on holidays.

Now a senior in high school, Savage is a tennis player and a big fan of basketball. He is partial to the Chicago Bulls. He has an enormous appreciation for big band and swing music, as well. In the future, he'd like to continue his acting career and write dramatic movies.

Ben lives in Los Angeles with his parents, Lew and Joanne, his brother, Fred, and his sister, Kala.
